ANALOG BLACK AND WHITE

I’m always asked, “why would I want to have my picture made with film?”  This is almost always followed closely by, “why on earth would you still choose to work with film?”

The answer to both questions is the same!  It's the experience!  Having your portrait made the "old fashioned" way - having to wait to see the results, enjoying the conversation we'll have, and enjoying the entire experience of having a timeless picture made - That's the experience!  It's not about click click click - "I hope we got it".  It's about caring how you look, refining the pose, waiting for just the right expression and having fun doing it.  Analog lends itself to an wonderful and memorable experience!  That and working with me too!

Just because I'm using a "mature" technology - yes it's tried and true for decades!  Does not mean we can't still have some contemporary flavor with lighting, posing, and wardrobe!  I find film is much more flattering on skin and just has it's own character and personality it brings to the picture.

I like using it because it makes me work and craft the picture for my clients!  It gives a sense of fulfillment that digital lacks for me.
